Thanks to Rebecca for the topic of my post today. She made a comment on the previous post about how I never give up. I just dust myself off and get back to the job at hand. I had not given this much thought until she commented. It is so true though. I do have bad days. I do have days where i could eat the entire contents of the lolly isle at woolies. I have days where i look in the mirror and think I look fat and disgusting. I am fighting on a daily basis to keep my inner fat chick locked away. She is nasty and persistent at times too, trust me!!

Today is Sunday, I would normally be weighing in and doing my measurements today. But I am not going to. A, because I did them on Monday last week, phew!! and B, because I ate a treat meal on Thursday nite and then it followed into Friday too. I have to learn better control! So I am sitting about 1.5kg heavier atm. Which will hopefully be gone by tomorrow morning if all goes well today.

So, I get up, and as Rebecca mentioned, Dust myself off and get back on track. Yesterday I ate well. Today so far I have eaten well and will continue to do so. It all means too much to me to stuff it up now by eating crap food. I want this for life, I want to be healthy all year round, not just for 20wks a year. I have the training component down pat! that gets done no matter what. Its just nutrition. I am weak at times with nutrition and I know that I am not alone either.

So here is my food for today:

B-fast - egg white omlette made with chicken breast, broccoli, zucchini, cabbage, onion and spices.
M-tea - 12g almonds and 58g pitted dates
Lunch - 120g chicken breast & green beans
A-Tea - same as breakfast
Dinner - Grilled Flake with green beans and broccoli
Supper - 1 apple and 100g of tuna

I have had 1.5litres of water so far and around 3 mugs of Spearole tea. I am aiming for another 2.5l of water at least.

See, nice and healthy. Not nearly as interesting as fish and chips down at the park with the kids though....... maybe that can be my treat next week if I hit my weight goal :o)

Hi Tara,
I love how much food we can eat when each choice is a good and healthy one. When I used to "diet" I would feel so restricted and deprived and HUNGRY!!

But most days now I am managing really well on 5-6 smaller meals with less carbs and lots of protein. I have also found a yummy way of eating sweet but low carb/cal by making souffle omelettes (c/o keksbflthing.blogspot.com) with grated apple, chopped nuts cinnamon etc... ooh... and a yummy chocolate one sweetened with 1/2 a pear. I would usually only have these in the morning or before cardio but they are so delicious, filling and really feel like a treat meal.

I admire your progress in a big way!

:)

Hi Tara - Love your positive attitude of never give up!! Nutrition is by far the toughest part for everyone that competes! Remember you don't have to be perfect, no one ever is... just consistant. Looks like you had a great day today - keep up the good work! We'll be cheering you on all the way x

Hey Tara
Just wanted to pop by and say that apart from picking yourself up and dusting off when you haven't had such a 'good food day' you also keep it real.
If things aint pretty you let us know. Can't stand reading blogs where everything seemsn Ok all of the time, surely no-one is perfect and you start to wonder.
As for me when things aint good I stop blogging normally.

Can't wait to continue following your 'REAL' journey.
Shar x
